Local transport.

As a rural community transport can be tricky if you don't own a car. We are committed to maintaining a regular bus service to Thame and lobbying Oxfordshire County Council and private providers for better services.

Going Forwards Buses Service 137 (Wallingford - Watlington)
This service operated by Going Forward Buses links Watlington with Ewelme, RAF Benson and Wallingford.  It currently provides two return journeys from Wallingford to Watlington on Tuesdays.  For further details of the current service, please see Going Forward Buses. or call 07484 605888.  Concessionary pass holders travel free.  No advance booking needed. 

At Wallingford there are connections to Thames Travel services to Reading, Oxford, Didcot and Henley. The buses also run through as Going Forward Buses service 133 to the rail stations at Cholsey and Goring, for train connections to Pangbourne, Reading, London and Didcot.  

T1 (Watlington - Oxford)
The weekday T1 service operated by Thames Travel provides peak time services running between Watlington and Oxford and two off-peak service in each direction going into Oxford in the morning and returning from Oxford around lunchtime.   The Saturday service is a two-hourly service from Watlington.   The full timetable is here.   Concessionary passes are valid on these services.

Thame Market Day Bus
Market-day bus service to Thame provided by Oxfordshire County Council.  The timetable for the service and more detail about how to use the service is here.  Note that concessionary fares are not valid on this service, and that tickets need to bought in advance from the Library or the Parish Office.  Tickets cost £2.50 for a return trip.
Note that in addition to the market day bus, the Oxfordshire Comet. service provides a service where you can book for any type of trip. Whether it’s to meet friends in town, travel across the county, attend an appointment or pop to the shops. The service is available 10am - 2pm Monday to Friday (not bank holidays).

M40 Bus Link, Lewknor
From Lewknor you can catch the Oxford Tube to London or Oxford as well as the airport buses to Heathrow and Gatwick.

Parking arrangements are informal at the bus link. Please ensure you park sensibly and safely and remove any valuables from your vehicle. The area is not well lit so please consider wearing hi-viz clothing when walking to and from your vehicle.

Train travel.

The nearest railway station is Princes Risborough operated by ChilternRailways. Regular services operate to London Marylebone, Aylesbury and Banbury. Haddenham & Thame Parkway is on the same line as Princes Risborough and also operates a regular service to Oxford Parkway.
